In my online research, I noticed that anytime someone asked which lube they should buy for their Fleshlight, recommendations for Gun Oil H20 outnumbered every other lube. Here’s a small sample of what I’m talking about:
Gun Oil H20 is far and away the best. – u/RemixxMG
If you can imagine a “perfect lube” then Gun Oil H2O would probably be the closest to what you can imagine. Nothing else that’s currently on the market comes close IMO. – u/misterflyer

Gun Oil H20 recommendations were also upvoted more often:
I second Gun Oil H20. Best lube. Worth every penny. – u/deejay5seven
Gonna throw my dick on this pile. Gun Oil H2O is 100% the way to go.- u/CanIGetAUsername
Redditors said Gun Oil H20 made Fleshlighting feel even better:
I have had 3 sessions with gun oil and it’s way better than the lube I used to use. It’s “slicker” and my cock doesn’t seem to stick or catch in the Fleshlight. I was shocked how much better it is than the stuff I was using before. – u/soloslide
Gun Oil allows for a totally different experience that helps me feel the intricacies of the textures much better. – u/dampnapkin69
Gun Oil H20 stays wet longer than other Fleshlight lube brands:
I’m a big fan of Gun Oil H20. It works well. Doesn’t get sticky. I find that I don’t really need to use a ton of it, so it lasts. Gun Oil H2O is by far my favourite one. It feels soft, is not as watery as Fleshlube and lasts longer then Pjur Man Basic. – u/deejay5seven
For edging sessions with H20 Gun Oil you just need a bit for it feels great and isn’t sticky (would recommend this one). – u/darkPizzacutter
It’s also way less messy than other Fleshlight lubes:
Gun Oil H2O is just thick enough to stay where you put it without numbing the sensations of the sleeve. Since very little runs/drips out, you make less of a mess. Astroglide is too runny because it runs out of the sleeve too easily. I always ended up with lube everywhere except in the sleeve where I needed it. – u/CanIGetAUsernane
If I need to stop and apply lube I had no issue with pulling out, putting a little lube on my penis head then re-inserting. The lube didn’t run off before I could put myself back into the sleeve whereas it would run off with the KY Ultra Gel. – u/MysteryMan999
And it doesn’t leave a dry, sticky residue:
I have tried Gun Oil H2O, Fleshlube normal and Fire. Gun Oil H20 is best by far! It doesn’t make it sticky or anything. – u/flquestion1234
Gun Oil H20 is my new go-to lube, it doesn’t have a tacky after-use effect. – u/bustnuts100
It comes in a range of convenient sizes
It’s available in sizes including: 32 ounce, 16 ounce, 8 ounce, 4 ounce, and 2 ounce bottles.
Plus, it contains aloe, ginseng and oat extracts to moisturize your skin:
Full ingredients list: Water, propylene glycol, hydroxyethylcellulose, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, tetrasodium EDTA, panax ginseng root extract, paulinia cupana (guarana) seed extract, avena sativa (oat) extract, polysortbate-20, PEG-45, polyquarternium-5, citric acid
Gun Oil H20 can be pricey, but a bottle lasts much longer than “cheap” lubes
If you compare unit prices, the 32 ounce and 16 ounce bulk size bottles are usually less expensive per ounce than small bottles of “cheaper” lube. Plus, those big bottles come with pump tops.
The main selling point is that it lasts waaaaaaaaayyy longer than the average water-based lube. In my experience most other lubes are pretty much a waste of money. – u/misterflyer
My only experience is with a 32oz bottle, and I’ve probably gone through about 6 oz in the 3-4 months I’ve had it. A little goes a long way, and it definitely lasts longer. – u/CanIGetAUsername
I got a 32 oz bottle on Amazon that has lasted me 6 months with use every other day at least. – u/suplarwasome
Fleshlight Lube Buying Guide
If you kind of remember that some types of personal lubricants shouldn’t be used with Fleshlights, you heard right.
Only use water-based lube with a Fleshlight.
Why water-based lubes only?
Water-based lubes won’t damage your sleeves or degrade their texture, unlike every other type of personal lubricant.
Hybrid, Silicone and oil-based lubes kill Fleshlights
The ultra-realistic skin-like texture of Fleshlight sleeves is made from a material called SuperSkin.
SuperSkin is made from TPE, or thermoplastic elastomer, a material used in many high-end masturbators, including the Tenga Flip and Tenga 3D, as well as most Japanese onaholes.
The thing about TPE is that its texture changes when you expose it to silicone and oil-based lubes. If you repeatedly use those kinds of lube with your Fleshlight, you’ll damage it.
Over time, all the bumps, ribs, and tentacles in your favorite Fleshlight sleeves will slowly break down, and you’ll be left with expensive, unusable piles of goo.
Here’s a partial list of common DIY lubes you should never use as Fleshlight lubes:
- Cooking oils (including coconut oil, olive oil, and vegetable oil)
- Lotions and moisturizers
- Hair conditioner
- Baby oil
Gel or liquid?
There are basically two kinds of water-based personal lubricants: Gel lubes and liquid lubes. Water-based gel lubes have a thick, jelly-like consistency and liquids are thinner and lighter.
I prefer using gel lubes with my Fleshlight because they aren’t as messy. They stay on your dick and in your sleeve.
Whenever I use a liquid lube with my Fleshlight, I worry about the whole bottle leaking out if it falls over or if I don’t close the top just right.
Buy the best lube you can afford
Just like with sex, the quality of the lube you use with your Fleshlight toys has a direct effect on how much physical pleasure you get from them.
This rule of thumb is especially important for guys who own multiple Fleshlights and pocket pussies and use them frequently. So don’t skimp, buy the best lube for pocket pussies you can afford.
